Day 9 - Send a friend a beloved book from your shelf.

Call me a nerd (I prefer you call me a bookworm instead) but I have always been in love with reading. Something about basking in the reality of someone else's story has always intrigued me. Getting lost in someone's story, getting lost in the moments, feeling what they feel because the characters feel so real. The worst feeling to me is that moment when you finish a book and have to return to reality. The setting, the story, all felt so true and for the time being you we're in it, you we're part of it.

Reading will always be my favorite past time. It feels like traveling into different places, meeting new people, gaining wisdom, learning different cultures, languages and the likes without having to leave the comfort of your home. There's nothing like a good book to take you away and make you forget about your worries for the time being. I once heard someone say that reading is dreaming with your eyes open, I love that line and I must say I agree.

My deed for today was to send a friend a beloved book off of my shelf but instead of sending it I decided to hand it over to her, Stephanie being that she works in my office. The book I chose to give her was Twilight, don't get me wrong, I've never been into the whole vampire thing, never watched a vampire show in my life and nothing about vampires has ever intrigued me. I'm a realist and as a realist I know that vampires definitely do not exist and/or will never exist. I can't even remember how I ended up reading the first Twilight book, because Lord knows I wouldn't go out and purchase it "just cause'" but I will tell you this, once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It wasn't just a story about vampires, it was more a love story, a story that I couldn't put down, four books and four movies later I still love Twilight. I mean I am completely over it and on to better books but I definitely think it's an experience Stephanie would like and should have.

In conclusion, everyone should read books and get lost in a story every once in a while. You should take this opportunity to share one of your beloved books with a beloved person like I did, you won't regret it and they won't either.
