I used to dream and still do of traveling the entire world, and now as a grown-up I always try to travel as much as possible.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">One of the things that makes life beautiful is difference. We are people from different backgrounds, cultures, traditions and colors. Yet, we share one blood and we are all equal since we are all humans. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In the United States a lot of people live in a bubble, caught up on material things, their next accomplishment, and vanity; if only they were to expand their horizon and see what a big, beautiful world it is out there. It is so nice to travel and get to know the different cultures throughout the world, to experience the beauty of difference and to expand our knowledge of cultural differences. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Today my deed of the day is to learn about a new country or culture <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;">– </span>my country of choice is one of Europe's smallest countries, entirely surrounded by the much larger Ukraine to its East, and Romania to its West; Moldova. The country is split linguistically between Moldovan (Romanian) and Russian.</span><br />
<br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The following are five (5) interesting facts that I learned about the Moldovan culture:</span><br />
<br />
<ol><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Moldova's production of wine is the highest in the world <em>per capita; </em>most houses have their own vines in their yards. While these homemade wines may not be of commercial standard, it shows that wine is at the heart of Moldovan culture. </span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Moldova is a country where libraries are going bankrupt and there is more and more demand for macaroon and cupcake shops; forget about the bookshops, cupcakes are the future.</span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The cave "Emil Racovita", in Criva is the 8th greatest cave on the planet.</span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In Moldova smiling openly, often and in public is not generally a thing. Smiles are genuine and to be shared with friends, family and other loved ones. It's strange when you see someone smiling in public <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;">– </span>unless its directed at someone; smiling in public is a great way to spot foreigners. Moreover, the lack of smiles may make you think people are actually less than happy with you or in general, when really they are quite happy.</span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Moldovan's make lots and lots of toasts; they will make a toast of Sanatate, "to health" but generally expect to hear anecdotes, a lot of well-wishing and a toast before every drink. During dinner about ten (10) toasts an hour is standard; not to mention, you are likely to hear the same toast over and over again. When they want to drink they even have a toast to avoid having a toast <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;">–</span> "hai devai!" which means "lets go".</span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span></ol>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Our world is more interconnected than it has ever been. People are more likely to meet someone of a different culture than ever before, yet many of us are not prepared for our global reality. Today, learn about a new country or culture; the following link teaches you about </span><a href="http://countryaday.org/#/"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">a new country a day</span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> with maps and fun facts. That way, next time you run into someone from another country, you can surprise them by letting them know something about their own culture!</span><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-ascii-font-family: Georgia; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-hansi-font-family: Georgia; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol;">©</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The older I get the more I realize
how the hours slip by unnoticed, and the days just don't feel as long as they
once were, by the time you get home and eat dinner and shower you are too
exhausted to even pick up a book and read. <o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
It wasn't long ago that I noticed
how beautiful the sky and sunsets are every day, and that I’ve been way too
caught up in the whirlwind of my life to stop and appreciate the beauty;
instead I had been miserable day after day sitting in traffic, stressed to
arrive at my next destination. Have you ever noticed how mesmerizing the sky is,
and how captivating the sunsets are? Every single day the sky’s colors change
surprising us with something more incredible than the day before. <o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
In this day and era it seems
like life is a race. Everything is fast; there's fast food, the fast lane,
cellphones. Everybody is in a hurry to get to work, then while at work in a
hurry to finish so that they can go home, everyone lives for the weekend, on
Monday they are counting down until Friday; and then you wonder why time is
flying by.<o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
We are always on the go, don't
look back just look forward; appointment books and day planners filled, late
for this, late for that, always on the run, reminding yourself to breathe once
in a while.<o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
Ferris Bueller was right when he said "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Today, stop and
look at the beautiful, wonderful world around you. Watch people. Look at the
wind blowing through the leaves. See the look on faces as they sing or play or
laugh or enjoy an ice-cream. Look into eyes; see the way eyes communicate
without words. Look at the sky and it’s beautiful ever changing colors.<br />
<br />
This past July 4th there was a fatal boat accident in Miami, Florida; the
accident took the lives of four extremely young individuals, one happened to be
a classmates from high school's little sister, she was only 24 years old; the
others were 20 and 23. I'm pretty sure those four young lives didn't
think when they woke up that morning that it was their last day
on earth, I am also sure that they wish they would give anything just to have one
more day to look around and say their goodbyes. Tomorrow is never promised, so
make it a point to stop and look around once in a while. <o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
Today, I stopped and looked at
the sunset and as I do every single day, I fell in love with the sky all over
again.</span>

I've been doing yoga now for over two years and I have learned so many amazing things, one of the things I've learned is practicing mindfulness and being present. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">When I read today's deed I already knew what the lesson was - slowing down and thinking about things carefully before making a decision or even before responding to someone. Learning to press pause means listening and assimilating before opening my mouth. Today, while going through my day there were times where I wanted to voice out loud my thoughts right away, but instead I would press pause and once I allowed myself to think about it I realized it didn't need to be said at all.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">There are many reasons why you should wait a beat before responding, but one of the main reasons is that </span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"><strong>words have power.</strong> People can be pretty careless when it comes to choosing the words that come out of their mouths. According to <a href="http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/let-their-words-do-the-talking/201011/words-have-power">Psychology Today</a>, words cannot change reality, but they can change how people perceive reality. Words create filters through which people view the world around them and a single word can make the difference between liking a person and disliking that person.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">We have a choice every day to use our words to cut or heal. Every time we speak we have a choice, either to make others feel great - or horrible. With that power comes the responsibility and obligation to use it wisely. Words not only effect us temporarily, they can actually change us. <span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Initially when I read today's deed I thought '<i>oh no, here I go again murdering another plant.</i>' You see, here's the thing ... I love plants, I think they're beautiful but I work in a bat cave with NO windows whatsoever; I have tried on many occasions to keep plants in my office to no gratification. I have read books, I've watched YouTube videos, I've even bought plant vitamins for them, but I always, always end up killing them (not purposely).</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It's funny because there's this scene in a movie I once watched called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BUSPNN8Svw">28 Days</a> with Sandra Bullock, it's basically a movie about being in rehab, and upon leaving rehab their counselor tells the group "<i>take small steps before getting into a relationship; first, buy a plant, if the plant lives buy a pet and if the pet lives, then you can consider loving someone else</i>". Every time my plants die I think to myself humorously '<i>there goes my chance at love</i>.'</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Jokes aside, adding a touch of green to your work space carries proven wellness benefits, from boosting productivity to purifying the air. Now if you're like me, windowless and lacking time for watering your plants having one can seem time-consuming and demotivating,<span style="color: red;"><b><i> </i></b></span>but after researching a bit, I found out that there are ways to avoid getting stuck with a sad plant cemetery on your desk by choosing specific air-cleaning, mood-boosting plants. Not only are there plants that are impossible to kill, but you have a wide variety to choose from!</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The following are just a few of unattainable-to-kill plants that you can add to your office space minus the responsibility and headaches:</span></div>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><u>The Spider Plant</u></b> - <span style="line-height: 20px;">These low maintenance plants thrive on partial sun or shade; making it ideal for a cubicle or windowless office. On the plus side researchers from the<a href="http://manoa.hawaii.edu/"> University of Hawaii at Manoa </a>say that spider plants carry loads of benefits for improving indoor air quality and reducing stress at work.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><u>Lemon Balm Plant</u></b> - <span style="line-height: 20px;">These plants are happy even if the nearest window is all the way across the office or if there is no window at all. Researchers from<a href="http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/aromathe.htm"> Ohio State University</a> say</span><span style="line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="line-height: 20px;">that extensive research has proven Lemon Balm's improve your mood and boost workplace wellness.<span style="color: red;"><b><i> </i></b></span></span><span style="line-height: 20px;">Not to mention Lemon Balm plants have</span><span style="line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="line-height: 20px;">a sweet smell that will enhance any mood. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><u>The Philodendron Plant</u></b> - <span style="line-height: 20px;">Not only is this plant lavish and leafy, but it is nearly impossible to kill, and researchers from the <a href="http://www.uts.edu.au/">Sydney University of Technology</a> found that these plants are not only</span><span style="line-height: 20px;"> pretty to look at but they<b> </b></span><span style="line-height: 20px;">are good for your health. Philodendrons are one of the</span><span style="line-height: 20px;"> </span><span style="line-height: 20px;">best plants that free indoor air of VOC's and excess carbon dioxide which causes frequent headaches, drowsiness and loss of concentration.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><u>The Peace Lily Plant</u></b> - <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Peace lilies love shade so they will thrive in a windowless office; not only are they pretty to look at, but <a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/1837156/NASA-Indoor-Plants">researchers at NASA</a> say that Peace Lilies is one of the top plants that removes </span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">tons of VOC's from the air.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><u>Golden Pothos Plant</u></b> - This lovely plant <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">is shown by <a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/1837156/NASA-Indoor-Plants">NASA researchers</a> to be the top air-cleansing plant and is famously low-maintenance. Its beautiful heart-shaped leaves are shown to remove up to 73% of VOC's and other pollutants from sealed chambers and was voted the "best indoor plant for low-maintenance situations" by <a href="http://www.bhg.com/gardening/plant-dictionary/houseplant/pothos/">Better Homes&Gardens</a>.</span></span></li>

<div style="line-height: 20px; text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px; text-align: start;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">As for me, I chose the delightful Golden Pothos plant for my office space AND I also purchased one for my nightstand table at home. Another added bonus, I've had both plants now for over a month and they are still alive!</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px; text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div style="line-height: 20px; text-align: start;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">If you could bring something into your office space that is pretty, boosts your productivity, enhances your mood and makes you breathe better why wouldn't you? It doesn't hurt to try and if worst comes to worst, you will<b> </b>still have a pretty plant to look at!</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

reading today's deed, I must mention – last year I got promoted to a pretty
high position; I was so overwhelmingly busy that it got to the point where I
wouldn't take lunch and would eat at my desk. I'm not one to believe in News Year’s
resolutions, but this year for 2014 I decided that I would take a lunch every
single day and go out into mother nature. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">
We
are now in April and I haven't missed a lunch outside since the year commenced.
Personally sitting outside in the beautiful weather, watching butterflies and
squirrels interacting, and reading revives me. It really makes me feel like a
new person when I get back to the office; it changes my mood, I'm chirpy and
radiant and sometimes I even sing in the office (my poor co-workers).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A
walk in nature cures a lot. Taking in some fresh air and the beautiful
landscape of this earth is amazingly head-clearing, grounding, and
mood-lifting. People are so busy now a day that they don't stop to realize just
how breathtaking this planet really is. When is the last time you looked at the
clouds; or the stars and the moon?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The
following are some reasons why you should STOP what you’re doing today and go
outside to get some fresh air – you deserve it:</span><br />
<ol style="direction: ltr; list-style-type: decimal;">
<li style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>Lack
of Sunlight is bad for your health</u></i></b> – Over the
last few decades we have increasingly left natural light and fresh air out of
our lives. What people don't understand is that sunlight is a powerful
healer, tonic, remedial agent, and relaxer. According to <a href="http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/sun-happiness1.htm">Science -HowStuffWorks</a> sunlight is actually good for you and a chronic lack of sun
exposure has been linked to fertility problems, several forms of cancer,
general poor health and varying degrees of depression. People actually get
depressed, with symptoms like sadness, fatigue and hopelessness from lack of
sunlight.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>Sunlight
helps you sleep better at night</u></i></b> –When the sun shines
on the skin; the nerve endings absorb energy and send it throughout the entire
body. This calms the nerves. We've all experienced how a few hours spent
at the beach or working in the garden can make you feel like taking a nap,
the reason for this is that when the sun hits your skin it produces vitamin D
in your body and then works as a great natural aid to calcium absorption.
Calcium soothes the nervous system which helps anyone suffering from insomnia
or sleeplessness. Did you know that sunlight is one of the greatest sleep
inducers? You always sleep better at night when you spend enough time in fresh
air and sunshine during the day.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u>Fresh
air improves your mental health </u></i></b>– Fresh air is the one
thing that naturally helps improve mental health and creates a feeling of calm,
overall well-being. Per <span id="goog_1458318270"></span><a href="http://www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,20532772_2,00.html">Health Magazine</a><span id="goog_1458318271"></span> studies show that spending time outdoors
actually increases your brain power and fresh air and is the best way to avoid
getting sick.</span></div>
</li>
</ol>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">
Today,
take some time for yourself and step outside into the fresh air. I promise it
will leave you feeling rejuvenated and blissful. Your to-do list will never get
smaller because items will continually pile on - so stop making excuses and
get out there RIGHT NOW! Thanks in advance. </span><span class="source"><br /></span><br />

eBooks or eReaders, there was paper, and there was ink. Now that e-mail,
Facebook, Twitter, and other ways to stay in touch have taken over our lives,
writing letters, thank-you notes, birthday cards, or even invitations is rare
in the twenty-first century.</span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Personal handwritten notes,
whether a thank-you note or a birthday note is a simple act of gratitude that
goes a long way. It shows appreciation and value which reaches beyond a predictable
thank-you. Being that handwritten notes are so meticulously slow — to draft, to
send, to assure delivery — they're not a good way to ask for things on a
day to day basis. Instead, they're more frequently used to remind others that
you value your relationship</span> <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In a generation filled with e-mails,
tweets, and text messages; handwriting has become less important in our lives then
it has ever been. The </span></span><a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/03/postal-service-annual-survey-personal-letters_n_992432.html"><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">U.S. Postal Service's Annual Survey</span></span></em></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">, said that the average home only
received a personal letter once every seven weeks, whereas in 1987 personal
letters went out at least every two weeks; and per <em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><a href="http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887323530404578203970519252566"><span style="color: blue;">The
Wall Street Journal</span></a></span></em>, it has been discovered through a
British survey that the average time since an adult wrote anything handwritten
at all was 41 days.</span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">While always saying “thank you”
is extremely important, the beauty of a well-crafted handwritten note is that
it can show deeper investment and appreciation than a simple, verbal “thanks”.
It can remind someone they're not forgotten, follow-up on a conversation or
include a birthday gift; each card carries its own meaning, and in a world
where so much communication is impractical, these simple acts of adoration,
remembrance, gratitude, and appreciation can show the people who matter to your
personal and business life that they are important to you.</span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I personally have always been
fond of handwritten notes. Many people have a box somewhere with saved
handwritten letters and postcards, and they think of them as treasured
possessions including myself. So, for today's deed, although I already had some
thank-you cards on hand, I went out and bought an extra box along with birthday
cards, and what better day to buy them since I received beautiful orchids, so it
gave me the opportunity to send out one of my new thank-you cards.</span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Today, go out and buy yourself a box of cards and send a
handwritten THANK YOU or HAPPY BIRTHDAY to someone you care about; being
grateful only brings abundance to your life, it's <a href="http://www.applythelawofattraction.com/gratitude-law-attraction/">one of the laws of attraction</a>. I'm sure you love receiving them, so today, begin giving them!</span><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">♥</span></span></div>

future self, what would you say? What do you want to remember, to hold on to,
to figure out, and to forget?</span><br /><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><br />
Before writing my letter today, I did some research and this deed is actually a
very common task to do, in fact there are a lot of high schoolteachers
that give this as an assignment; you must write a five paragraph essay (at
least five sentences per paragraph) and aim it towards yourself in 10 years.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide a record of your life and who you
were; to anchor in time your current views, attitudes, philosophy, and
outlook; to explore your feelings and opinions about a variety of issues and
to create a document that, years from now, will have significant value to
you. </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Something about this deed
excited me, it excited me to think about the possibilities in the future
and what my facial expression will be five years from now upon reading the
letter; and it excited me to think of my life in a time capsule. Just imagine
writing a letter to your future self years from now and seeing how much of it
resonated with you, the concept and idea fascinate me. In addition, at the very
moment you are writing the letter, your consciousness is captured and stored
right there in those words. When you open the letter in the future, your future
self gets to compare how you used to be in the past and compare with how you
currently are. </span><o:p></o:p><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Writing a letter to my future
self helped me step out of today and look forward to tomorrow, it also made me enthusiastic
for things I hadn't allowed myself time to contemplate. When my letter was finalized,
I sealed it in an envelope and placed it safely in my treasured memory box that I've had since I was a child. I smiled at the possibilities and also got to </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">clear my mind and think of my true desires in life; which I've
never gotten the chance to do before due to today's fast-paced lifestyle.</span><o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today I urge you to write a
letter to your future self; it can be anywhere from one year, to five years,
even 10 years. It'll inspire, empower and motivate you to live bigger, happier
and more fulfilled. Not to mention, with our generations technological
developments, sites like <a href="http://www.futureme.org/">Future Me</a> and <a href="http://www.letter2future.com/en/about/">Letter 2 Future</a> allow you to type a
letter to yourself and set the date when you'd like to be e-mailed. Writing a
letter to the future you can bring suppressed hopes and dreams to the
forefront. Reading them back to yourself on the appointed delivery date can be an
extremely powerful movement; no one knows you better than yourself, and it's
never more apparent than when you read something written for you, by you.<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">♥</span></span></span></span><br />

6:22-23 it reads, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">"the eyes are
the window to the soul"</i>; many different poets have since
used the famous quote including William Shakespeare. The meaning of this
verse is that if you look deeply into a person’s eyes, you can tell who they
truly are. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br /><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span>
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Eyes are one of the best attributes
of human expression because they can be direct and elusive, as well as show a
million different emotions in just one look. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br /><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span>
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">There are many reasons why it is
important to look someone in the eyes when speaking to them. Looking into the
eyes of the person you are talking to shows respect for that person, whether it’s
a boss or a friend, it reflects that their opinion is important to you; sincerity
can definitely be felt through eye contact.<o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">If you like someone in any
shape, way, or form, eye contact is significant because it shows you are
actually interested and listening to what they are saying. Eye contact can say
so much and show so many different things, it can reflect intimacy,
understanding, love, attentiveness and so much more.</span><o:p></o:p><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I personally get so busy at work
sometimes that someone coming into my office for a simple question can irk me,
so when they do come in I keep on working hoping that not making eye contact
will show them I'm busy. It's an awful thing to do, I know, and I didn't
realize it until completing this particular deed.</span><o:p></o:p><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, I made it a point to make
eye contact with everyone that crossed my path whether it was the mailman, the
stranger waiting in line behind me at CVS, a coworker or a friend. Not only was
it nice to take a breather and realize that I'm not a machine made to work and
I too deserve a small break, but it also reflected how good the person felt for
me taking the time to listen even if it was just to borrow my scotch tape. I
can't promise I'll always do what I did today, but I can promise to try.</span><o:p></o:p><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today's society consumes us so
much and we don't even realize it. Have you ever stopped while at a restaurant
and looked around? Most people sitting down are on their cell phones rather
than having a conversation. Most people are too busy at work to stop and have a
small chat. Most people at the grocery store or in the street are in too much
of a hurry to acknowledge another human being. Be that person that makes a
difference today and show people that you actually care enough to take the time
and look them in the eyes while they're speaking, even if it is your waiter
telling you the days special; I can guarantee you will make their day or even
their week by a tiny little gesture that takes no effort at all!</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3LNOevffrm4UQMqR11zDZnMdsiJ1o9j2IWET4UCgeSRpZ-rlwMDA7UOwKLxZaQL4jvvjqjfmdf7atm4_bDusnwrbCEdfhjrMYulblUpYwx0Cf4eNcWxXiqcsXwxyxYYFofzYknGIDfQsB/s1600/rest.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3LNOevffrm4UQMqR11zDZnMdsiJ1o9j2IWET4UCgeSRpZ-rlwMDA7UOwKLxZaQL4jvvjqjfmdf7atm4_bDusnwrbCEdfhjrMYulblUpYwx0Cf4eNcWxXiqcsXwxyxYYFofzYknGIDfQsB/s1600/rest.JPG" height="320" width="318" /></a></div>

you ever noticed how a person's face lights up when you mention a memory of
them, or ask them to tell you their favorite memory? Last night in my church
small group one of the questions was 'what do you like hearing people talk
about?' and when it came my turn to answer, I said I like to hear about
people's happy moments, what they love; what they're passionate about; simply
because when someone speaks about what makes them happy, their face
radiates with light and their eyes shine brighter than the North Star - I can't
tell you how much I love seeing people when they look like this. </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<br />
</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12.5pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">There may be no love
like a mother's love. As the first person you meet and come to know, moms hold
a special place in our hearts. From reading to us before bed, tucked in all the
way around like a 'butterfly sleeping in a cocoon', to kissing our
boo boo's goodbye, mothers are our rock and solitude in an ever changing
life. </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span></span><span style="font-size: 12.5pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
When I initially read today's deed, memories rushed through my head making me
smile in disbelief that I could even recall those moments at such a young age.
So many in fact that I found it is hard to choose just one. The following is my
note to my mom:</span></span><em><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><o:p></o:p></span></em></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><em><span style="color: blue; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Dear
Momma,</span></span></em><i><span style="color: blue; font-size: 11pt;"><br /><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
When I look back on my life there are so many millions of little moments that
you have shared with me. You loved me, protected
me, taught me and made me into the person that I am today. Through thick and
thin, you were always there rooting me on.</span></span></i><span style="color: blue; font-size: 11pt;"><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><i><span style="color: blue; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">There
are so many things that I remember from my childhood. I remember collecting
Disney ornaments every single year for our Christmas tree, oh how I would be so
happy to add a new one to the tree. I remember the way your face shined
whenever you received your favorite flowers, sun flowers. And, how could I
forget you letting me turn your walk-in closet into a Barbie mansion? The
selfless love and compassion you taught me to have for all living things,
especially animals; there would not be one animal on the side of the street not
rescued by you and placed in a loving home.<br />
<br />
My list of memories can go on forever for how can you pick only one memory out
of half a life time? But, if I did have to choose just one, I would
pick the memories I have of every single year on the night before Christmas; in
our PJ’s we'd go to the living room where the tree was placed and we would put
out cookies and milk for Santa and grass for the reindeers. Normal
children, like Danny, would usually wake up in the morning and run
directly to the presents under the tree, not I - I would run straight to the
table and I would be so excited when I would see the grass chewed and
the cookies and milk half eaten that I would scream and jump for joy.<br />
<br />
I cannot wait to someday have children of my own so that I can share with them
everything you taught me.<br />
<br />
My list can go on forever on how you made my life so much better
by being in it, but instead I just want to end this note by saying I love you,
I appreciate everything you've done and I can only hope to be half the mother
you are until this day.<br />
<br />
Thank you for the memories.<br />
Love,<br />
Your Princess</span></span></i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><br /><br />In a world where we only
like to point out the bad instead of the good, the ugly instead of the pretty,
and the sad instead of the happy; we never stop to really appreciate what we
have, while we still have it. Today, I encourage you to write a little
note to your mom with your favorite memory of her and just watch as her
face lights up with joy. In fact, I say we make it a new tradition and write
love notes to our cherished loved ones on a normal basis!</span></span> </span><br />

deed of the day I thought to myself "I know how to be understanding and
truthful already, so how do I complete this deed? what exactly do I have to
do?" Confused I decided to look up the meaning and significance behind
each word and I soon learned that I was not being 100% understanding and truthful on a daily basis.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">The virtue of </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">understanding</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> means using your mind to think clearly,
paying careful attention to see the meaning of things. An </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">understanding</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> mind gives you insights and wonderful
ideas. An </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">understanding</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> heart gives you empathy and compassion
for others. </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Understanding</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> is the power to think and learn and also
to care. </span></em><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">The virtue of </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">truthfulness</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> means being honest in your words
and actions. You don't tell lies even to defend yourself. Don't listen to
gossip or prejudice. See the </span></em><strong><i><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">truth</span></i></strong><em><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">
for yourself. Don't try to be more than you are to impress others. Be yourself,
your true self.</span></em><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I read the meaning to both
virtues throughout the day and whenever I dealt with someone at work or a
friend I stopped to reassess the virtues in the back of my mind. I tried my
best to analyze and understand every situation I confronted today. And when walk-in’s
would come into the office asking for me, instead of having my assistant say
I'm in a meeting I practiced the truthfulness virtue and accepted them
with an open door. Usually I would get stressed at the situation, upset that
the person took 10 minutes of my precious, valuable time but today I realized
that person walking in caused me to stop and breath for a moment which felt pretty
pleasant. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In my yoga class tonight, I also
practiced truthfulness and understanding with myself; during a usual class, I
dedicate my practice to someone or something that I want to send light and
energy too, or someone that might be in need of a little love and bliss. Tonight
I dedicated the practice to myself – because truth and understanding comes from
within ourselves in order for us to radiate it to someone else, and we are just
in as much need of truth and understanding as anyone else, especially since we are
usually harder on ourselves.</span> <o:p></o:p></span><br />
</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Today's deed made me realize
that love is understanding, seeing, hearing and accepting someone for who they
are. In today's day in age people hold a certain expectation of how someone
should or shouldn't be; everyone's expectations are different but it still doesn’t
make them right. <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">We have all been guilty of
judging others, but when you let go of needing others to live according to your
'right' way, you realize that your life is filled with love and understanding
rather than stress and confrontation. </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When you show up without
criticism and judgment and with understanding in your heart, it allows people
to be exactly who they are and love is exchanged. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<u1:p></u1:p>
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Tonight as I sit in bed writing
this post, I feel at ease and peaceful and have learned that I want to live my
life with these two particular virtues. Try practicing your day with a little
bit of understanding and truthfulness and you’ll see just how rewarding it will
turn out to be.<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif";">♥</span></span><br />

for most people is struggling to hold their tongue; they rather have the last
word, whether it’s good or bad. I've never had an issue in this department as I
rather hold my tongue than lash out at someone; although, contrary to most,
when it comes to my loved ones such as family and friends, holding my tongue is
a piece of cake. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">However, I do struggle with
practicing what I preach; it doesn’t take much fuel to start a fire of
complaints, and once those complaints come off of your lips the negative energy
takes over your body. Rather than looking at the positives in life, most people
tend to bring out the negative and that is a constant battle for me.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">The truth is, we all complain,
no matter how happy our lives are we still have those days where we can’t help
but to grumble. Sometimes we complain without even realizing it and
realistically it’s easier to complain about the situation than to do something to
fix it. Over time I’ve realized that when you hold your tongue and put your
mind toward a more positive outlook rather than complaining, not only do you
feel better overall but you can think clearly to make the positive changes for
the better. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, when asked how my day has
been, instead of complaining about the horrible Miami traffic, or about the
sales representative who made me wait in line for what seemed like forever, or
even about the overflow of vendor e-mails and phone calls; I held my tongue and
silently thought about how grateful I was to have a car to get me to work, money
in my wallet to allow me to shop and to have such an amazing job which most
wish they had. I will continue to practice what I preach because life is such a
beautiful thing to waste, and things are taken from you in an instant – realizing
how blessed we all truly are, changes our view on life and diffuses the
negatives which aren’t really so bad after all.</span><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-ascii-font-family: Georgia; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-hansi-font-family: Georgia; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol;">©</span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p></o:p></span></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"></span><br />

</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This deed was pretty easy
because I have been doing yoga now for a little over 1 ½ years; I am so
passionate about it that I try to attend class at least 4 times a week or more.
Although this deed didn’t introduce me to something new, it was still exciting
for me because although I am a yogi bear and know the basic story behind yoga
and where it was originated, I’ve never really known the in-depth details and
this allowed me to look further into yoga so that I have a stronger knowledge
of its background and can deepen my practice.</span> <o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Born in India, almost 26,000
years ago, yoga is believed to have evolved during the period of the 'Sat Yuga'
which is known as their Golden Age – an era in India known for everlasting
peace and abundant blessings; filled with seekers of the Eternal Truth. Which
is why, even in today's day and age, the word 'yoga' alone radiates peace and
tranquility, its meaning is 'to join or unite’. The idea of yoga was for the
individual self to unite with their Cosmic Consciousness or the Universal
Spirit and yoga was and still is a means to achieve this goal.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">It's funny because most people
see yoga as this stretching exercise with a bunch of girls in very stretchy
clothes who try to tie themselves into very complicated knots for an hour. But,
that couldn't be further from the truth.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><a href="http://www.that-first.com/category/yoga_basics/article/what-is-yoga/">Yoga</a> is integration and mastery
over all levels of the mind, so not only are you working out your body
physically but you are also working out your mind mentally. Not to mention that
yoga relaxes and puts you in a zen level of peace through Savasana which is a
type of meditation that is done at the end of every practice. I find Savasana to
be the hardest pose of all, because there are always 100 thoughts running
through your mind and it’s hard to clear it completely. But once mastered, you’ll
feel a feeling of total relaxation and peace take over your body and it’s
guaranteed to leave you with that sensation for the rest of the day. </span></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><o:p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">There are many benefits to
practicing and deepening your yoga practice, here are just a few that are sure
to make you move forward with taking a yoga class:<o:p></o:p></span></o:p></span></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Increase your flexibility
& physical strength: Most yoga poses lengthen the ligaments, tendons, and
muscles in your body which means you will notice an increase in your body's
flexibility when practicing yoga. The more flexible and stronger you become
through your practice, the less likely you are to injure yourself during other
physical activities and in your everyday life.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Reduce
stress: Yoga is not only an exercise for the body but also for the mind. Yoga
focuses on controlling your breath which allows the body AND mind to relax. Not
to mention, at the end of every yoga practice, you do Savasana in which you lie
on your back, meditate and go into a state of complete relaxation; leaving
every thought and feeling out of your life for those 10-15 minutes. After this,
you usually leave the class feeling like Jell-O and like a brand new person.
Don't we all need this?</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Better mood: Feeling down or
sad? Like most exercises, you feel great afterward! Yoga increases your body’s
serotonin levels which makes you happy. I walk out of class with ‘yoga high' or
'yoga glow' every time I attend a class.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Maintain
a healthy weight: Being a yogi bear I can tell you by experience, yoga works
out every single part of your body and although I have always worked out and
been athletic, I have never been so toned in my life. A good yoga class will
have you sweating no matter what the temperature in the room is! Yoga is a
great way to supplement your regular exercise routine and help you keep your
body lean, healthy, and maintain your desired weight.</span> </span></li>
</ul>
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">There are countless reasons and <a href="http://www.medindia.net/yoga-lifestyle/yoga-importance.htm">benefits</a> to why
you should take up yoga as soon as possible. Your best way to find out
if yoga is right for you is to try it out for yourself. Take up yoga today, I
promise you will not regret it and will end up wanting to spread the word about
yoga and how <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">fabulous </span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">it is!!<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">♥</span></span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Friendship is paramount to me; I
cherish my friends, & will bend over backwards for them. For me friendship
is one of the most treasured things in life. After all, friends love you at
your worst, understand your past, believe in your future, & accept you
today just the way you are. Friends are angels sent from heaven to catch you
when you fall, speak when words are needed, & to share the silence when
they are not.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">In life, every single
relationship you will have will require work; whether it be family, romantic,
or friendship. There will always be hard times & good times, it's easy to
enjoy the good times but when someone’s there for you through the bad – that’s true
friendship. It basically comes down to you deciding whether working on that
relationship is worth it or not.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">According to one of my favorite
philosophers of all time, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristotle">Aristotle</a>, there are <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philia">three types of friendships</a> throughout
our lifetime: friendships of utility, friendships of pleasure, &
friendships of the good. </span><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 0.75in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-fareast-font-family: Georgia;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">I.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philia"><em><b><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="color: blue;">Friends of Utility </span></span></b></em></a><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">also known as friends of usefulness exist
between you & someone who is useful to you in some way or the other. For
instance, perhaps you’re friendly with your co-worker in the office next to
yours because he helps you figure out the printer when it jams, or you keep in
contact with that single girl from your study group because when you have no
one else to go out with you know she's always accessible. Basically you scratch
my back & I'll scratch yours; business partners, co-workers, &
classmates often fit into this category.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 0.75in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-fareast-font-family: Georgia;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">II.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Next
there's <em><b><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philia"><span style="color: blue;">Friendships of Pleasure</span></a> </span></b></em>better
known as friendships of mutual interests, they exist between those whose
company you enjoy. The foundation of this friendship is a similar interest; in
example sharing the same hobby such as painting, going for long bike rides, or
gym buddies. This is the kind of person in which you enjoy a little chit-chat
or a good joke. You& this person share a common enjoyment, & that's
where your friendship is ingrained. If you lose interest in that common
pleasure, there's a big possibility the friendship will end.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 0.75in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.5in;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Georgia; mso-fareast-font-family: Georgia;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">III.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Finally,
saving the best for last, there's <em><b><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philia"><span style="color: blue;">Friendships of the Good</span></a>,</span></b></em>
better known as friendships of virtue. These types of friendships are based on
mutual respect& admiration; they are usually the types of friendships that
take longer to build than the other two kinds -- but they're also more powerful
& enduring. You value one another as individuals, enjoy each other’s
company& share similar values & goals. You are their friend, not for
how they can benefit you or how they can bring you gratification, but simply
because you are fond of them. This is definitely the highest form of
friendship.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">If you have a friendship of asset,
you must realize it's hard to come about & you should work hard at maintaining
it. They say that mending a rift in a friendship requires courage, honesty,
& understanding; I agree to a certain extent, but the way I see it is that
it's as simple as -- letting go of your pride.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">The older I've gotten, I've
learned that it is better to lose your pride with someone you love rather than
to lose that someone you love with your useless pride. If I'm wrong, I admit
I'm wrong because I don't want to be one of those people whose pride overtakes
their happiness. I've had a friend whom I have been on a rocky foundation with
for the last month or so. She recently ended things with her boyfriend &
contacted me to apologize & say she missed me, I of course didn't reply
because my thoughts were instantly 'friendship of utility'. Today, I decided to step up & let her know how I felt; we ended up mending our
friendship & it felt nice knowing that I'm not being prideful or boastful,
rather doing what I do best & being loving. You can't expect everyone to treat
you how you treat them, but you can give them love from afar & not let
their lack of enthusiasm affect you.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, be the bigger person
& mend a rift in a friendship – especially if it's a friendship of high
merit. Even if it's not, forgive that person, show them your <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace">peace</a> & <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love">love</a> so
that you can move on with joy & happiness in your heart rather than arrogance.
It will feel great in the long run & you'll know that as you travel along
this path called life, you won't be leaving any feelings of regret, negativity,
or pride behind you. </span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">♥<span class="userContentSecondary fcg"> </span></span></span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; font-size: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I've always been big
on drinking water, even as a child I preferred water or juice over soda any day
(I know – I was a weird kid). Many people don't realize the benefits that
drinking water every day brings. Did you know that your body is made up of
about 70% of water? Your brain alone is made up of 90% water & it does not
function well unless it's hydrated.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">

bodies to function properly we need to drink enough water to make up for the
amount of water our bodies release daily; your body loses water every time you
breath, sweat, use the restroom, etc. Water hydrates & lubricates every
cell & organ in your body, it also fights fatigue, surges your metabolism,
plumps up the skin, & keeps headaches away. </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />

my mother for example, drinking water is torture because they absolutely
despise the taste of ‘nothing’. Luckily for them, some foods such as celery,
tomatoes, soups, & different types of melon are rich in fluid & help
you obtain the water that your body requires. </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

at work I am excellent about drinking water & I usually drink at least a
gallon of water a day without even trying; my trick to drinking so much water
is, I buy the biggest water bottle of Evian from my local grocery store which
is 1.5 Liters. Knowing that 1 Gallon contains 4 Liters, I make it a point to
drink at least 3 bottles a day which is a little over a gallon. Don't get me
wrong, some days I drink less & some days I'm like a fish & drink more,
but it's all about getting your body used to it.</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

noticed the more water I drink the thirstier I get. The reason for that is that
your body gets used to being quenched & once it reaches a normal intake, it
desires more. Today I drank over 8 glasses of water & as always felt great;
you should try doing the same & reap the benefits of drinking more water. <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">For those of you who know me, I
am a cookie monster; in fact, I'd choose dessert over an actual meal any day of
the week. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that this deed made me joyful,
because not only did I have to do one of my favorite things – baking, but, I
also got to eat one of my favorite things – brownies.</span></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I decided instead of baking cookies,
I would bake cookie dough brownies; they were part cookie dough so they should
count as cookies and mostly because I really wanted one for myself. Lol.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I spent my entire Sunday evening
slaving away in the kitchen baking while drinking wine – horrible night I know
;). The results were delicious; my family begged for them to be able to eat all
of them and for me not to take any to my co-workers. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I of course objected and brought some into
work this morning. My co-workers were delightedly stunned and the brownies were
gone within 10 minutes. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I love pleasing others so it was
nice to not only bring a smile to my families face but to also bring a smile to
my co-workers on the most dreaded day of the week – Monday. I encourage
everyone to make something sweet this week and share with whomever your heart
desires you to share with; I promise it will make you happy you did so. Not to
mention, who doesn’t love a baking/wine night?♥</span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Names usually communicate so
much more than a simple tag or label of what to call you. Your name becomes the
representation of who you are; who you are to your family, to your boss, to
your friends, to the businessman in the office or the waitress at your table.
Your name is a representation of YOU.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">In the universe everything has
been given a name. And, behind each name there resides a meaning. Parent's
usually put a lot of time and effort into the decision of what to name their
children and it's something that will stay with you (for the most part) for the
rest of your life.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<o:p><span style="font-family: Georgia;">When my parents got the news of their first child, my brother, they made an agreement that if my father got to name their son, my mother would be able to choose the name of their first daughter. <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">A year later, when news hit of
my expectancy, my mother says she was excited to choose a name for me. Her
first choice was Ashley, but when she came across the name Cynthia in a baby
book she fell in love with it right away. </span></span></o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">My name, Cynthia, is a Greek
origin which means <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Greek god. The name derives its meaning from Mount Kynthos
and was the name of the Greek moon goddess. <span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif"; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;">She
loved the meaning of my name and the history of it, not to mention, she also adored
the fact that a famous Roman poet Propertius used the name Cynthia in many of
his love poetry which she thought was, in her words,"dreamy and romantic".</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">At a very young age, my mother
found that it was hard for people to spell my name or pronounce it correctly so
she decided to nickname me Cindee, spelling it differently than the normal
Cindy name, because if you knew my mother, you’d know that she strives to be
different and unique. The name Cindee quickly stuck, and now as an adult I can
say not many people know me by my full name; I believe the only person who
still calls me by my first name is my grandmother. I've asked my mother many
times, why she didn't just name me Cindee if she intended to call me that all
along, she just laughs and tells me that she still loves my full name and
doesn't regret it one bit. As for me, either names are okay with me, but
sometimes it will take me longer to look if you’re calling me by my first name,
being that I’m not used to it. What about you, what's the story about your name?
It’s nice to find out little things like the reason behind your name which one
day you can tell your children or grandchildren. I’d love to hear the stories
behind your name, so comment below!♥</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />

<span style="line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;"></span><u1:p></u1:p><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When
I initially signed up with the <a href="http://www.miamirescuemission.com/mealsclub.htm">Miami Rescue Mission</a> I really had no idea about
the organization; the sole reason I chose them was because they are one of the
biggest shelters in Miami, Florida that feed and take in any homeless person
off of the street. Now for those of you who are wondering why I had to attend
an orientation in the first place in order to feed the homeless, it’s because now
a days organizations like to go over policies and guidelines of what you should
wear when working with them as well as explain what to do in case of an
emergency or with a particular situation. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Upon attending orientation
today I learned a lot about this particular organization and how truly remarkable
they are. The organization is a non-profit, faith-based group focused on
ministry to the homeless and needy in South Florida with a slogan of "<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">No One is Homeless</i>"; it was founded
in 1922 by a Christian couple whose goal was to feed as many hungry stomachs as
possible. Now don't let the faith based part make you stray, they welcome
anyone with helping hands of any faith or no faith at all. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Last year they provided over
343,286 bed nights and served nearly 859,883 meals to the homeless men, women
and children of South Florida. <o:p></o:p></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I originally began this deed so
that I could give a homeless person a clean blanket; but this one deed has
opened my eyes more than I could have ever imagined and moved me in so many
ways. I am currently awaiting my background check because not only would I like
to feed the homeless but I've decided I want to work with women and their children
during specialty events such as birthday parties, self-esteem classes, career
and hygiene workshops, etc. <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I will also be getting involved
with 'Operation Hope Tote' which is a drive they are currently having to fill
as many little hope tote's as possible for the homeless. A Hope Tote is a small
purple bag that can be filled with inexpensive, simple day to day items we take
advantage of such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap or body wash, shampoo,
deodorant, wash cloths, disposable razors, underwear, etc. These tote's are
made to make the person feel better so that they can hopefully make better
changes for themselves – such as getting involved with their education, work
training, recovery and spiritual guidance.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">If you are in the Miami or
Broward area I urge you to get involved with this wonderful organization; not
only will it change your life, but it will also, hopefully, change someone else’s
life; like the men in the below video who graduated thanks to the <a href="http://www.miamirescuemission.com/mealsclub.htm">Miami Rescue Mission</a>. In addition, if you would like to donate or get involved with
<a href="http://www.miamirescuemission.com/hopetote.htm">Operation Hope Tote</a>, you can contact Melissa Singh, via-email at </span><a href="mailto:msingh@caringplace.org"><span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">msingh@caringplace.org</span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
or via-telephone at (305) 572-2002; I will also be picking up items for
donation so comment below and I would be more than happy to pick up anything you
are willing to contribute. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span><o:p></o:p><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">You also be a part of their
<a href="http://www.miamirescuemission.com/mealsclub.htm">Meal(s)-A-Month-Club</a> by donating $2.00 a month. For as little as $2.00 you can
provide a hot meal to the homeless and hungry; that's only $24.00 a year. For
that small amount you're providing meals during the year for those that are in
great need and who thanks to your help, might turn around their life, like so
many have already done. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you really
think about it, in today’s society $24.00 doesn’t make a significant difference
on your pocket book, but you’ll be making a big difference in someone’s life!!!<strong><em>♥</em></strong></span></span></span></span></span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">They say that one of the best
phrases you can learn when traveling in another country is 'thank you'. Not
only does it show your gratitude for a person's help, but also a certain level
of respect in the fact that you're attempting to reach out in their local
language. </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">There are many good reasons to
learn another language or words in another language; one of the best reasons is
that language learning is an example of "cognitive reserve", which is
something that keeps the mind active in the same way puzzles and games do.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Scientists have found that one of the best
methods of fending off the symptoms of dementia (a popular form of dementia is Alzheimer’s
disease) and brain damage is by building up your ‘cognitive reserve’.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>People who live intellectually stimulating
lives and who are better educated are somehow better protected against the
factors that trigger mental decline. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Not to mention but<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> the majority of the world does not speak English; in
today’s society we are so isolated that we hardly realize this. More and more
towns and cities in the United States are becoming diversified and we are
coming into contact with more non-English speakers all of the time. So learning
another language will benefit you in terms of business and personal
relationships by being able to communicate with people in their language. This
will set you apart and gain immediate respect and credibility.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today I will be trying to
memorize how to say ‘thank you’ in 5 different languages. I chose the following
5 languages because not only do I think they common languages spoken
throughout, but they are also languages that have intrigued me. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<ol>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">French – Thank you in French is ‘Merci’
(pronounced mair-see)</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Swahili (language of Africa) – Thank you
in Swahili is ‘Asante’ (pronounced ah-SAWN-tay)</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Hindi (language of India) – Thank you in
Hindi is ‘Shukriya’ (pronounced shook-ri-ya</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Chinese – Thank you in Chinese is ‘X<span class="st"><span style="color: #222222; font-family: "Georgia","serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;">iè Xiè’</span></span>(pronounced
shi-e shi-e)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Italian – Thank you in Italian is ‘Grazie’
(pronounced gra-zee)</span></li>
</ol>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Although I cannot guarantee I will remember the above gratitude phrases, I will definitely make it a point to learn words in another language each time I travel and will also try to practice these five phrases on a weekly basis. You should do the same, try to memorize at least one ‘thank you’ phrase in another language today. We all know how important manners are and it’s a nice feeling when you show thankfulness to another person, especially in their native tongue.♥<br />

I</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> must say, out of all of the
deeds I have completed thus far, this has got to be my favorite one. Mainly
because, until today, I had no idea "community gardens" existed, let
alone what a community garden was. Once I found out exactly what it was, I entirely
fell in love with the concept. The image of communities getting together, gardening, laughing and sharing is a divine conception. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">For those of you who are as
clueless as I was, a community garden is basically a piece of land/property in
your community that is owned by the city or privately, where you can grow your
own food in small plots with the support of other gardeners and take home a
share of what is produced. Some charge an annual fee to cover things like
water, supplies, etc. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>but the cost isn’t
usually that ample.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">The idea fascinated me and when
I searched <a href="http://localfoodsouthflorida.org/commgardens.html">‘Miami community gardens’</a> in Google I was shocked with the abundance
of there being so many and I was yet to know they existed. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would expect gardens like these to be
located in places with diverse cultures such as New York City but definitely
not Miami, I guess we are moving’ on up in diversity!<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, I made a list of gardens
nearest to me and left on my journey to see this magnificent concept in person.
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The first couple of gardens I went to were
closed and although I was disappointed I looked at them through the gates and
was left in admiration. Not to mention, one of them was a in a gorgeous park
that was a ‘hidden gem’, if it wasn’t for this deed I would had never known
this park existed. As soon as I saw this park, I envisioned myself on a weekend
afternoon, laying out in the park all day reading and definitely added it to my
“favorite parks” list. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I couldn’t help but be
discouraged on my way to the last park on my list because although I saw the
gardens were beautiful, they were closed so I really couldn’t go in to get an
up-close look. I really didn’t get why they were all closed, it was a beautiful
Saturday afternoon with the sun shining, a hint of a breeze and bright blue
clouds; the perfect day to spend outdoors gardening. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It took me a while to actually find the garden
and I finally found it hidden in between apartment buildings on the beach and
when I saw it I was left in amazement; it was small but lovely, the color burst
from every plant, the gardeners working on their plots and kids running and
playing – it was truly out of a movie. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I
sat in the garden for about an hour admiring the plants, people, and reading my
book, I knew I would be visiting again from how much I loved the serene
atmosphere. I am extremely thankful for this Good Deed book and project,
especially on days like today!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I insist you look up community gardens in your area, you will be shocked to see how many there are! You'll fall in love with the variety in age, culture, and the people's backgrounds in every garden you visit. Everyone has something unique and different to share, it's a lovely concept, one that I adore and I hope you'll love it too. Let me know your experiences and stories if you do visit a garden near you, I'd be delighted to hear them!!!♥</span></span></span><br />

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><a href="http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/06/your-day-in-a-chart-10-cool-facts-about-how-americans-spend-our-time/258967/">Research shows</a> that 3 out of 5
American's spend more hours at work than they do at home. Work takes up a
decent portion of our lives; and it feels like a second home to most people; spending
the majority of our week with co-workers, a group of people that are not
family.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://cdn.theatlantic.com/static/mt/assets/business/assets_c/2012/06/Screen%20Shot%202012-06-25%20at%205.10.23%20PM-thumb-615x400-91130.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://cdn.theatlantic.com/static/mt/assets/business/assets_c/2012/06/Screen%20Shot%202012-06-25%20at%205.10.23%20PM-thumb-615x400-91130.png" width="400" /></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Another interesting fact; the
<a href="http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/224912.php">American Psychological Association</a> says studies show that people who have a
good peer support system at work may live longer than people who don't have
such a support system. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">In actuality, you don't have to
be friends with your co-workers, but to make your day go by smoothly; it's wise
to be on good terms with them. This doesn't particularly mean you have to spend
time outside of the office with them. But while you're in the same working
environment, being able to talk on a friendly or cordial basis is highly important.
Even if you don't particularly care for a fellow employee, doing your part to
keep the peace can go a long way towards showing true professionalism in your
career.<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I am pretty fortunate when it
comes to my work situation. For the most part I get along with my co-workers
and enjoy what I do (on a good day). Every morning I dread coming into the
office and having to make myself a coffee. On special occasions I’ve come into
work and the guards have an iced coffee sitting at my desk waiting for me and
ready to drink. On those days I smile from ear to ear, that small simple
gesture makes my entire day. <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">My co-workers love me doing this
"good deed project" because they have reaped the benefits of my deeds
such as today when I brought them a coffee from Starbucks. When they each
walked into the office and saw they had a Starbucks coffee waiting for them,
they had that same thankful, elated expression which I have on the days I receive
coffee and it made my day to see that I too could give that feeling to someone.
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, make it a new beginning
at your office, no matter what the circumstance is; don't hesitate to be
friendly. Even if you're the new employee or maybe the one who's never had much
to say, don't hesitate to smile and say hello. Also, bring them coffee; I assure
you that nice simple gesture will make them overjoyed, and they will pay it
forward by bringing you a little surprise in the future!♥</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

always encouraged others to ‘GO GREEN’; there are so many reasons why we should
recycle, not to mention, society (for the most part) makes it so easy to do so in
today's era, that there really shouldn't be a motive for why you don't recycle.
In addition, recycling also has numerous environmental benefits such as it
saves energy, conserves natural resources, saves wildlife & animals from
becoming extinct, limits pollution, & supports several sectors of the
economy to name a few. <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />

put a bin for paper as well as plastic which is what we mostly consume here.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My goal this past weekend was to
complete this deed and give a homeless person a clean blanket. To be honest,
I've been holding back from completing this for a while, because quite frankly
I didn't know where to begin and I also didn't want to approach a random person
on the street not knowing if I would offend them or not.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><o:p> </o:p><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Of course the weekend passed by
and I was not able to accomplish the deed but late Sunday evening I went to get
a late-night snack and while pulling into the McDonald’s drive thru I noticed a
homeless person sleeping on the cement sidewalk on the side of the street; I
felt horrible when I saw them laying on the cold ground with nothing but the
clothes on their backs and I knew it was an ideal opportunity to finally
complete this particular deed.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I went to the nearest Walgreens
and bought a fleece blanket along with a travel size pillow; all the while countless
thoughts racing through my head "what if they are offended?",
"what if they are aggressive?", "what if they are callous?”. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I couldn’t control my anxiety and my boyfriend
definitely didn't have the answers to comfort me at that moment (I obviously
would have never attempted to do this in the middle of the night with him not
being with me). <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When I arrived at the location, I got off the car and slowly approached the
homeless person who I found out was a woman, she started moving and looked up
at me. As I held out the items in my hand, in a subtle tone I stated to her
that I saw her lying there and thought she would like a clean blanket and
pillow so I went and bought some for her. With a baffled look on her face, in a
hoarse but brittle voice she said “no”; as I insisted and went to lay them down
on the floor she looked at me as if she knew I meant no harm and once again
said “no, thank you”. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>At that moment I
could tell that she clearly wasn’t going to accept anything from me and I shouldn’t
cross my boundaries so I took a deep breath and went back to my car.</span> <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">When I returned to my car I was overcome
with emotions and the tears didn’t stop coming; not because she didn’t accept
the items but because I was entirely heartbroken for her. Sure I had seen
homeless people in the past but never one lying on the cold ground by a main highway.
I tried to erase the image from my mind but for the rest of the night all I could
think about was her, I couldn’t even eat my fries and tossed them out. I know
that all homeless people are not helpless and most of them have done immoral things
in their lives and that's why they ended up where they are, but no matter how
much a person has sinned in their life; they deserve a warm bed to sleep in at
night or at least a blanket and a pillow. <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I will attempt to complete the
deed again and today I also signed up with the <a href="http://www.miamirescuemission.com/">Miami Rescue Mission</a> to feed the
homeless and help with anything that I can. I look forward to my orientation</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"> on

Also, if any of you are in the Miami area, I urge you to look at the flyer below and help in anyway that you can with Operation Hope Tote, every little thing counts!</span></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">♥<span class="userContentSecondary fcg"></span></span><br />

</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">An important element to any
relationship is to communicate, my boyfriend has been the first to always point
that out in our relationship and because of him, I am learning on a daily basis
to express how I feel, and I am grateful for his help.<o:p></o:p></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<br>
If you're in a relationship with
someone<a href="http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/communication-success/201210/7-keys-long-term-relationship-success"> you should know</a> what their plans are and how they fit into your key essentials
that make a person. Not only will listening to them build a stronger foundation
to your relationship but it will also help determine whether you want to be a
part of that plan or not.<o:p></o:p><br>
<br>
<span style="line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;">One
of the things that most attracted me to my boyfriend is his radiance and
passion, the way his eyes light up when he talks about something that he loves,
and the way he fills with light. He’s accomplished so much for his age, and
excels more and more throughout time, yet is so kindhearted and lovely with
every single person that crosses his path. When he talks about his passions he
always makes me feel a range of emotions, but mostly, all I usually feel is
happy; because although it sounds cliché, his happiness is my happiness. His
only downfall is that due to his enthusiasm for so much, he commits to too many
things which will usually lead to a nerve-wracking halt. </span><u1:p></u1:p><br>
<br>
When I asked him what he wanted
to conquer next he considered the question for some time before answering;
finally his response was to deepen his yoga practice. When we first started
dating, some of his main goals were less complex since work wise he’s been
accomplishing everything he’s written out to do, they included but not limited
to; waking up earlier in the mornings, smiling more throughout the day, and beginning
yoga. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He has since been doing yoga for
several weeks and not only feels better but as a beginner has a lot of
potential to thrive in his practice. To ‘support’ him, I purchased a month of
yoga classes in the studio he attends so that we can do the classes together. <o:p></o:p><br>
<br>
In conclusion, why should you
ask your partner what they want to conquer next? Well, <a href="http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-human-equation/201002/the-supportive-spouse-how-get-the-right-kind-emotional-support">research shows</a> that
couples who are supportive of each other have a prosperous, healthy, lasting relationship;
and being supportive means making your partner’s happiness and well-being a
priority, in little and big ways. The reason you’re together in the first place
should be that you're each other's biggest fans, so you should make sure to act
like it. Today, ask your other half what they want to conquer next, and if they
are trying to make a positive change, such as start a new hobby, or undertake a
difficult challenge; be their biggest cheerleader. I’m far from perfect, but I
am definitely willing and able to practice what I preach, you should to!(;</span></span><br>

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">We live in a world that is
constantly on the go twenty-four-seven. I can never seem to get unconnected,
something is always happening, something is always interrupting. When I get to
my office in the morning, I have a to-do list that is never ending, and every
time I check something off the list, five more tasks are added. On top of
everything else, I never seem to accomplish as much as I would like to, because
every five minutes there’s someone walking into my office asking for something
or just wanting to chat. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Today, I made sure to not to get
irritated when someone came in to ask me for something; instead I smiled, took
a deep breath and delighted in taking a couple minutes away from<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>my hectic work day. <o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">What we don’t realize is that it
is essential to our health and we deserve to stop, relax, breath, and take just
5 minutes each day to get disconnected; when was the last time you took a
time-out (other than sleep) away from the chaotic workplace to gain perspective
and clear your mind for 5 minutes? It's completely counterintuitive to set
aside time not to do work in order to do more work.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">I think the nice side-effect of
taking the time to breath is that you are able to control your workday rather
than letting the workday control you. By taking the 5 minutes it gives you a
chance to disconnect and reboot. There will always be urgent issues to keep you
busy, but it’s up to you to let those issues take over your life. Today, bless
your interruptions as an opportunity to clear your mind, disconnect and reboot
to be more productive; I promise it will leave you feeling better and more efficient.

</span><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Have you ever
had one of those days where everything is going wrong; you spill your coffee on
yourself on the way out of the house in the morning, you're running late and
traffic is bumper to bumper, you're catching every single red light, you get to
the office late and to top it off you go to make copies all the way to the
other side of the office to find out that there’s no paper in the printer,
making you have to turn around and go all the way back to your desk to get the
supply key.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";"></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: "Georgia","serif";">Okay, so maybe this doesn't
happen all of the time, but truth is it could happen. Besides, it's nice to
have a little bit of office etiquette. So today, I filled the printer up with
paper so the next person who uses it doesn't have to worry about it. Maybe it
won't make a difference in anyone's day, but, what if it does?<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
